You don’t have to be stuck in unfulfilling relationships.
Your anxiety does not need to control your life.
Your history of trauma does not need to determine your future.
And being confused is not such a bad place to start.
The reasons for seeking therapy can be quite varied, here are some that I usually see in my practice:
• Relational problems
• Worry
• Anxiety
• Life crisis
• Shame
• Self-criticism
• Identity issues
• Depression
• Work-related or career challenges
• Loneliness
• Healing trauma
I work online with individuals who want to shift or change in some way. Whether you're going through a life crisis or battling with shame and self-criticism my approach is to meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to be.
To me therapy is about giving you more access to yourself. When you start to understand what your body and your emotions are communicating you are able to strike up a conversation with them. By noticing the stories you tell yourself about who you are and can be you are better able to rewrite them so that they fit who you long to be.
I work psychodynamically with an intersectional perspective. Which means that I work with the underlying reasons behind suffering and with healing what feels broken. My approach is deeply influenced by the method AEDP which is described in the following way:
"we try to help our patients and ourselves become stronger at the broken places. By working with trauma, loss, and painful consequences, we discover places that have always been strong, places that were never broken."
You can read more about the intersectional focus here.
With tenderness and curiosity we can approach those aspects of you that need to shift and heal in order to create more freedom.
